Name: Prince
Breed: Maltese and Spaniel mix
Weight: 14 pounds
Gender: male
Spayed/neutered: yes
Age: 4 years old
Reason for Intake: foster parents are not able to crate train. Prince needs to have his own sleeping space. If placed on the bed, he gets reactive to moving feet (growl and bark)
Medical (shots etc.): up to date
Good with dogs: yes
Good with cats: unknown
Good with kids: socialized with teenagers
Good with strangers: yes
Guarding issues: yes sometimes with Kong or treats; has growled when he has a toy but doesn’t always. Never bitten. Likes to growl when playing. Very expressive
Ever bitten a human: not a bite but more of a nip. He gave a warning nip on the son's foot while the son was playing an online video game (he got startled by the moving foot while sleeping).
Ever bitten a dog: he got in a scrap when he was adopted over food but neither dog bit.
Behavioural issues: will growl at foster parents if they move their feet during sleep; sudden movement wakes him up and he has an intense growl at their feet. If they keep their feet still, he will stop growling and goes back to sleep. Best to let him sleep in his own bed.
Housetrained: yes
Crate trained: they are working on crate training now.
Destructive when left alone: no
Barks when left alone: no, quiet dog
Leash skills: good
Handling issues: doesn’t always like to be picked up but lets you know by growling
Known commands: Sit, Stay
Food on now: Merrick Grain Free Real Chicken
Medical issues: None
Personality, likes/dislikes: Gets along with all dogs he has met. Sniffs them and moves on. Sometimes, it is skittish around some bigger dogs but not all of them. Loves to play
