This pet needs emergency placement. Please contact us for more information.
Reina needs emergency placement due to behavioral concerns. She is highly reactive to other dogs when in her kennel, which makes it difficult to house her safely due to her attempting to bite other dogs as they pass her. When staff or caretakers are in the rooms, she begins bouncing off the walls and screeching. Medically, Reina is healthy.
We have no history of Renia so we cannot be certain of his behavior in a home environment. However, he will need daily mental and physical activity to keep him engaged and exercised. We recommend long-lasting chews, food puzzles, and hide-and-seek games, in addition to physical exercise, to positively direct his energy and enthusiasm.
A volunteer writes: For the past few weeks I have admired Reina from behind her kennel bars. Her lower lip is something else, a world wonder. I pass her frowning face over and over while she watches me, pouting as I walk by with other dogs. Her ears are my personal kryptonite. Big, tall oblong saucers. I finally was blessed to meet her outside of her kennel last weekend and this pouting princess did not disappoint. I adore a playful dog and she was delighted to indulge me. Reina waited all day to come out for a break, and though it was already dark out she didn't seem to mind one bit. She ran happy circles with her new toys, before hopping on the bench to further indulge me in some cuddling. Reina, like many dogs in our overpopulated shelter, is struggling in her kennel at times. She was found running loose on the street, and while initially fearful with the police officers who brought her in, she allowed all handling and was friendly with staff when she arrived. She is waiting for you.
