Rescue Outreach
Rescue Outreach is a non-profit, volunteer run organization whose mission is to help reduce the euthanasia rate of dogs and cats by rescuing from high kill shelters; placing animals into foster homes to provide a loving and nurturing start to their future; rehabilitating from injury, illness or other factors and re-homing with families that will ensure their continued care; along the way we hope to educate and seek support from the community to ensure our efforts.
Submit an Adoption Application
Because all of our animals are in foster homes, you will need to complete an adoption application and be approved in order to meet one of our animals.
Verification Process
We will check to make sure that you do not have any violent charges on your criminal record (felonies) | your landlord allows animals | and verify with your vet that current pets are up to date on testing, vaccinations, well exams and preventive medications. Â We will also send a text message requesting home photos/video as part of our home check. Â At that time we will also schedule a phone interview.
Phone Interview
If your application passes our verification process, you will receive a telephone call for phone interview. Â During this interview we will ask any questions we may have and clarify application information if we have questions or concerns. Â If your application is seemingly a good fit for the animal you've applied, your information will then be forwarded to the foster home of that animal. Â Based on the animal, you may receive an additional phone call from the foster prior to scheduling meet and greet.
Meet and Greet
If approved, you will receive an approval notification via e-mail. Â From there you will be contacted by the foster home to schedule a meet and greet. Â Â An approved application means that you have passed the initial screening process and may proceed to the following steps. The animal you are interested in may have more than one application and may have already found his/her forever home before you are able to meet. In that case, your application will remain active for 60 days. Â An approved application is NOT A GUARANTEE that you will be able to adopt the animal you are interested in.
Adoption
Rescue Outreach, together with the foster home, will decide if you are a good fit for the animal and if the animal is a good fit for you. Â Please note, adoption will be determined based on the BEST INTEREST of the foster animal. Â If we do not feel the home will meet the animals needs, you may be asked to check back for a better fit. Â If we DO feel the animal and home are compatible, adoption is finalized! Â Finalization will depend on the foster home. Â Some animals may need more than one meeting to ensure good fit. Â Adoption may take place the same day as meet and greet, or may be scheduled for another date.

All breeds are best guess from veterinarian based on physical exam. Â All animals come from high kill shelters with poor access to resources. Â Once they arrive to our rescue they are quarantined for health purposes and spoiled in loving foster homes until their forever home is found! Â Our organization is operated 100% by volunteers who give their time and love out of the goodness of their hearts.
