Shelter
Richmond Ruff House
Richmond Ruff House
We are a 501(c)(3) volunteer-based non-profit dog rescue dedicated to rescuing homeless dogs from animal control facilities and public shelters that are at high risk of euthanasia due to overcrowding and overpopulation, dogs given up by their owners because of difficult circumstances, and those in danger of abuse or neglect by providing them with temporary shelter for the purpose of finding permanent auditable new homes.
Each applicant will complete an Adoption Application for review and to schedule a one-on-one consulation. Once the initial application is reviewed and approved, a home inspection may be required. There is an adoption fee of $185 to help assist with veterinary expenses, vaccines, and food for the animals while in our care.
All dogs are spayed/neutered, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, heartworm tested, and treated for fleas and ticks.
Applications can be located at www.RichmondRuffHouse.org/adopt.html.
We are a foster based rescue. Pets are available on an appointment only basis or at any adoption event. Please contact us at (804) 396-6313 to schedule a meet and greet or visit us on-line at www.RichmondRuffHouse.org.
