River

River
Dazzling River is looking for her forever home! She is a sweet natured girl who takes some time to build bonds with new people but once she knows and trusts you, she is very loving and affectionate and loves nothing more than a good belly rub! River also enjoys being out and about, going for long walks with her handler. She has shown some conflicted behaviour around other dogs and although generally sociable, she can be a bit much for some. For this reason, she will need to be walked on a long line but her behaviour is very manageable. She is not so into toys but likes using her nose to sniff out treats in a snuffle mat or to play scent games. River is looking for an experienced and active owner who is knowledgeable in dog behaviour and body language and will have the time, patience and understanding to dedicate to her needs. She will make a fun and loyal companion for the right person or family

River isn't keen on being overhandled when she first meets people so needs an experienced owner who will be understanding of this and willing to go at her pace. Experience with or knowledge of her breed type would be preferred. She will need to be walked on a long line when in the park, due to her behaviour towards some dogs. Her adopter will be expected to continue her training and will receive 3 free sessions with our Mayhew Animal Behaviourist. River can live with sensible teenagers of 16+ providing they have lived with a dog before and will give her the space she needs. She can also live in a ground floor flat, with direct access to a private garden but can be vocal at times so this should be taken into consideration. River has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and is up to date with flea and worming treatments. She has also been medically and behaviourally assessed.
