Meet Rodger
Meet Rodger, a 1-year-old male Rottweiler.
Rodger arrived at the adoption center after being picked up by animal control as a stray. This sweet boy was very shy when he came in but quickly warms up to people with just a little attention. He loves to get cuddles and will do best with an adopter that can house a large cuddle bug. Rodger was adoption returned because this gentle giant does not realize his size, and sometimes knocks small children over, so would be best in a home without young children. It appears that Rodger was not breed by a reputable breeder, his legs did not develop correctly so he does walk different then most dogs. He does enjoy getting out in the park but will not have the stamina for distance walking and would do best in a home with a fenced in yard with grass. Rodger is learning about dog beds and would benefit from a bed that has plenty of cushion to make him more comfortable. Please come meet this gentle giant for yourself. Keep in mind that his photos ended up making him look more puppy than he is.
This pet is available for adoption at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. If you recognize this animal please contact the adoption center.
Adopters are welcome to visit the adoption center Monday-Saturday.
A Picture says 1000 words...right? While an animal's picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known. Adding a pet to your family is a big responsibility. Please research carefully and remember that adoption is life saving. Adopt Don't Shop.
