Meet Rosie
Meet Rosebud (Rosie)
Rosebud here, ready to find my forever home! I came to SHS with my sister, Yoda, and the staff and amazing volunteers have been working hard to help us learn more about the world and how big it is; while also showing us there's nothing to be afraid of. I've never been around anyone besides my previous owner and dog siblings; that includes never going on a walk, never meeting new people or animals, or leaving home. We arrived at SHS in May 2022 and have been learning how to trust new people. I am still skittish but will come over to you for some affection. I am learning and looking for someone to be patient with me.
It may take time for me to form a bond with you and you may not be able to pet me at first until I'm comfortable. I also am a lot more comfortable with a doggo friend; I open up a bit better when I have a four-legged friend to play with. An experienced dog owner who's maybe trained a flight risk dog is the kind of home I'm looking for; one with a doggo friend and no kids as I'm still uncomfortable around strangers. I do have to be adopted with my sister Rosebud as we depend on each other for support.
I'd love to have a supervised playtime in your backyard if your fence is 6ft. Until I form a connection with my person and home, I may try to escape the yard and try to find somewhere small and warm to hide. Some training to help my flight response would help out greatly.
