MORE ABOUT RUE
Our sweet boy Rue is looking for a new family to adore. He is an ex-racer who is looking to start his second life, experiencing the creature comforts of a loving home. He is playful with toys, enjoys a good run, and relaxing on a soft bed in the company of people.
Rue had not lived in a home setting before, but has settled in wonderfully with his foster carer. He has been mostly housetrained and his foster carer is working on helping him learn that it is ok to be left alone for short periods. He will need a secure garden of his own to help with house training and give him the chance for zoomies!
Around other dogs he has shown himself to be friendly, with moments of independence at times. He seems more motivated to play chase games with smaller dogs, so when out and about he would be best introduced to dogs who enjoy similar play styles and won't feel worried by this. As with many sighthounds who have a high prey drive, we are advising he is kept on lead and wears a muzzle, which he is used to from his previous career. For a chance to have a good run or play with canine friends, it would be ideal for his new family to rent him some time in a secure field.
We are looking to rehome him with children over 8 years old who will know to be gentle with him, and a cat-free home is a must.
