Meet Ryder (aka Napoleon)

Ryder was one of 6 puppies that arrived 01/18/2023. Some of them came in with severe neurological effects, possibly from being exposed to a neurotoxin. Ryder's two sisters showed no symptoms, and were eventually adopted. Three of the litter had very severe effects and had to be euthanized. And there there is Ryder! He's a survivor! He is a He is now about 5 months old. He has been getting veterinary care including massage, chiropractic adjustments and acupuncture. He is now ready for a home where he can get more exercise, one-on-one care, and lots of loving and positive reinforcement.

After practically growing up in the shelter's office, he is used to lots of activity and people. His physical motions are a bit out of kilter, and as hard as he tries, sometimes he tips over and faceplants. Our hope for Ryder is that someone with the means to get him checked out and diagnosed will adopt him. Cerebellar hypoplasia has been bandied about, but an MRI which could discern that is $3,000 - above the shelter’s budget. We are hoping as he grows, he will get stronger and more coordinated. And we are also hoping he will benefit from lots of physical activity. He has a wonderful silky, wavy, black coat and the sweetest face ever.

All our dogs are spayed/neutered, de-wormed, and vaccinated appropriately for their age (including kennel cough). Micro-chipping is not included in the adoption fee but can be added for an additional cost $25. Puppies (under 6 months) are $250.00; puppies (6 months to 2 years) are $200.00, dogs (over 2 years) are $175 and senior dogs (7 years or older) are $75.00.
