Sammy is just a bundle of energy and a ton of love! We have been working on socialization, pack walks, learning to walk on a leash, to sit, lay down and stay and to not jump on humans and on other dogs on the home.

She is very food driven and affectionate, and loves her treats with her training time.

Sammy would do very well in a home with being either the only dog or with a submissive dog that loves to play! Sammy is very dominating.

Sammy loves everyone and wants to jump up on every human being She meets as well as her foster mama and the foster family! As far as cats I would would suggest that to be a no no.

While, she has never outwardly tried to harm her fosters cats, she’s extremely curious about them and wants to play with them like they are a play toy! So they have been separated for the cats safety.

So I would say no to cats.

Sammy has a ton of energy and once she’s fully healed from her spay surgery, she would be the perfect running dog or hiking dog for someone! I truly think once she gets all the attention, daily exercise and all the love in a household, she will begin to calm down and gain trust.

She is very smart, so she will learn training very quickly, but again with treats because food is her everything! Due to the fact that she came to us emaciated, and that’s after people had already put a good 8 pounds on her that found her originally.

Clearly, with the matted for and all of that, she came with showing signs of complete neglect and starvation! Since Sammy is a long-haired German shepherd, she will need regular Grooming, so that she does not get matting in her fur again.

Now that she gets fed three times a day she is gradually putting on weight and she devours her food very quickly! Once she learns that her new family will love her and feed her regularly and give her a nutritious food and tons of love, training and exercise, she will calm down into an amazing member of the family!!! Sammy must have her own backyard to roam and play, and of course sleeping inside with her family, and being inside during the summer months for sure, is a must!
