Scituate Animal Shelter
THE SCITUATE ANIMAL SHELTER is a municipal facility under the supervision of Scituate Animal Control, a division of the Scituate, Rhode Island Police Department. We take in animals from Scituate and Foster and provide care until we can find good homes for them. We also socialize all cats and dogs who need such work in order to be ready for life in a home and with a family. The shelter staff and the volunteers will go to great lengths to find homes for all animals that we have at the shelter. Vet references are required for all potential adopters and decisions are made by our Animal Control Officers.
ADOPTION FEES AND SPAY/NEUTER DEPOSITS are by cash or check only, please. Checks should be made payable to Town of Scituate.
Our adoption fee for adult cats is $50. Adoption fee for adult dogs is $60. There is no adoption fee for kittens but there is a state-mandated $75 spay/neuter deposit that is required to adopt each kitten, and is fully refundable upon proof of spaying/neutering.
An adoption form can be emailed to you and a vet check will be performed before adoption. Please ask for a dog/cat application form when inquiring about any animal.
