Meet Shadow

Shadow is a handsome Heeler/Cattle Dog boy who's approximately 3.5 years old and around 26-30 pounds. Shadow was found in a vacant field by one of the shelter's volunteers. He was quite shy when he was initially brought in, but has warmed up quite well and is really affectionate and he does great with other dogs in play groups. Shadow came to our rescue from a shelter. He was part of a group of dogs. We're so excited for them to get their chance to land in their forever homes and start their next chapter. His current foster dad is a long time friend and rescue partner of the rescue, and he also provides boarding, training and most often a safe sanctuary for certain more challenging or misunderstood dogs to land for a time who have been surrendered or were in need of rehoming for one reason or another. Shadow had been in other foster homes and even adoptive ones, but they unfortunately didn't work out, and so we've learned he needs a special home to thrive in. Since arriving at his current foster's sanctuary, he's had some training and has been generously socialized with so many other dogs and people. Familiarity with the breed and a single person household with another dog or two might be more suitable for this shy boy. He's made tremendous progress and has come out of his shell quite a bit since arriving in our program back in November. Today, he would love nothing more than to find his person who will spoil him with attention and show him all the love and adoration this boy deserves. Shadow is currently being fostered. Steps to adopting

Adoption applications will be kept on file for 1 year and can be applied towards multiple adoptions within that time frame.

The first step to adopting a dog from the rescue is to complete the adoption application (Click on the orange colored "Fill out an Adoption Application here" button to start the process). Once submitted, please expect 3-5 business days or sooner for processing and to hear back from us. Once you are pre-approved, your adoption application will remain on file with us for 1 year and it can go towards multiple adoptions within that 1 year time frame. The application will expire 1 year from when it was submitted.

To finalize an adoption you must sign the adoption contract and pay the full adoption fee. The adoption fee helps cover our costs. On average, per dog, it costs for vetting, transport, sterilization and more. All dogs are rescued and do not transport to the rescue until they are healthy and ready to be adopted. All dogs are vetted before they fly, given standard vaccines and rabies, dewormed, given flea/tick treatments and tested for heartworm. Most dogs are sterilized before they fly, however if this is not the case we will spay/neuter them once they arrive at our cost.

Upon their arrival, all dogs are seen for a wellness exam by the rescue's medical team and parasite screening will also be performed. Any parasite treatment necessary is at our expense.

Once the adoption is finalized, any further medical care or treatment will not be covered by the rescue, unless discussed prior. All known issues are disclosed to the best of our ability prior to finalizing the adoption.
