Do you need a big boy? Meet the bulkiest boy around, Shaq! He came to HAP when he was found wandering as a stray. Our vet estimates him to be just around 2 years old. This handsome man may be large, but his heart is gigantic! Shaq loves meeting new people and is very social. We tried to find his owners, but no one came looking for him. We just can't understand how someone could give this baby up! He is super tolerant and enjoys spending time with people. Shaq loves the finer things in life. Whether that's chicken mixed in his kibble or a freshly fluffed comforter, he loves the lux life. He walks well with a harness, though he's still learning that no matter how hard he chases birds, he will not get one. Shaq has made some doggy on friends on walks. He would likely do best with dogs that can keep up with his size/strength.

We are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog, but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.
