Hi! My Name Is SNOOPY
I'm Available
Here are his details:
Snoopy
Snoopy is a 12 + year old Shih Tzu whom you never knew you wanted! Here are all the notes from foster mom - ”Snoopy has turned quite a corner, to where he absolutely loves my husband and will actually accept cuddles and snuggles and a little bit of joking/playing around, it might not last long but it’s definitely there. His eyes and skin condition are totally under control. As long as he gets his cytopoint shot every four weeks. He gets one drop off eyedrops twice a day and his eyes do not get gunky unless his cytopoint shot is overdue. I do check the eyes midday if he wakes up, if they are dry, I put in a little bit of lube but that’s all that is necessary at this point. He only needs one medical bath a week, and he still pretty much sleeps 20 hours a day. He goes out by himself, he barks or paces when he hast to go, when he’s done, he will just bark by the door or if he can’t find it he will stand and bark until we get him. He gets breakfast at 7:30. He goes out before and after then he sleeps till either midday for a quick potty break but usually he sleeps through till 4 PM goes potty gets dinner goes potty goes back to sleep till six then he’s up for a couple hours where he is active : barks, begs, cuddles a little with Rick. At 8 o’clock we give him his sleepy meds, which is 3 mg melatonin and 50 mg trazodone. He sleeps within an hour and sleeps all the way through till five when my husband gets up. He is blind, and runs into dogs, they might be snarky, he deals with it but still… He would do better and more quiet environment.“ We are looking to find a hospice home for him ASAP! Snoopy’s has a horrible history, as he was found by the side of a highway, after laying in the heat for several days. He was presumed dead and it took animal control days to come out. When found his skin was so infected that most hair was missing, and his eyes were huge and swollen, and covered in layers of crust, the dry eye that was diagnosed is permanent. That is why he is blind.
