Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved.
If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs.
IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply.
If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board.
We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog.
Socks, 9 month old, neutered male, black lab/pitbull mix, 38lbs.
Socks is in a foster home in San Antonio, TEXAS and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is lined up! Socks is a young, high energy, fun loving, playful type of guy.
He loves to play fetch, chew on a tennis ball, or run around as fast as he can.
He would love a home with kids to chase him around, to go for long walks or runs, and for someone to toss the ball for him to fetch.
He loves adventure and would be a great hiking or camping companion! For all his puppy antics, Socks is still quite loving and capable of wearing himself out to rest.
He is a loving, sweet handsome boy who has lots of affection for those around him - especially if you have food! Socks has great dog manners: he gets along with most any dog and does not bark, even when other dogs bark at him.
He pays very little mind to the yipping and yapping, and instead focuses on the task at hand.
He walks well on a leash and doesn't pull hard, although he does like grabbing at the leash.
Socks loves being outside and is not a digger, nor has he attempted to jump the fence.
We have no real history with cats as he is kept separate from the foster's cat.
The one time he encountered the cat he did chase it, so he will likely need slow introductions and/or training to be around cats if necessary.
Socks lives on a property that adjoins a greenbelt with deer and wild animals, which he loves to watch; he never chases the birds.
Socks is crate trained and sleeps in there every night without accidents.
He is fully house trained and alerts when he needs to go outside.
He eats his meals in his kennel and has no issues sharing his toys or bones.
He has not yet been left loose or unattended in the house but is trusted to hang outside without supervision.
While his foster has done an incredible job teaching Socks manners and giving him lots of love, Socks would love nothing more than to have a home of his own.
And honestly, who doesn't love some Socks as gifts for the holidays?
