Meet Stormy
Don't let Stormy's cute looks fool you, this one is full of sass! Stormy came to us at the beginning of the year after being found on the streets. She was lucky to land in a foster home who has really gotten to know her well.
They report Stormy was quite scared meeting the family members and it took a few days for her to warm up. She has her radius limits on walks and will refuse to continue on the route when she feels they have gone too far. She is quite reactive towards strangers/other dogs while on walks, but they have been working on it, some days she is non reactive and others she is. The fosters have been working on sorting out what her triggers are.
They feel like Stormy will do best in a single detached home with a fenced yard, as it seems the large apartment towers with lots of people tend to scare her and set her off. They feel she did well with their male Pomeranian but was not super attached to him and might do best as a solo dog.
It seems like Stormy's ultimate home would be a quiet person or couple with dog experience, who can help her learn and grow and overcome some fear based behaviors. We would love to set her with someone who understands cute does not mean cuddly and that Stormy will need a training plan in her new home.
