Meet Suki
Suki is a beautiful 2 year old female Maine Coon.
She a very independent kitty that prefers to be admired than participate. Unfortunately she has been in 2 homes already as each one has had children involved. It is clear…Suki does not like children. She has not lived with other pets.
Suki will adjust very well to a new home. She will not hide or be stressed but will lay at your feet or legs while sleeping, watch you shower, or work, or clean. She will be your constant shadow.
She loves to be able to see outside or be outside in a cat enclosure or catio. She does make those special cat noises for birds!
Suki is smart and knows her name and will even come when you call her – she knows the term “treats” “brush” “bird” “outside” She would do well with tricker training.
She is not food driven – and does not eat from the table – or beg for food.
She only likes for Royal Canine food and will not bother with anything else. She does love to eat fresh cat grass.
Suki does play somewhat with interactive toys or with her favorite feather –
Suki is not comfortable with grooming, especially in the areas under the armpits and her belly.
She will allow the top of head – neck with no issues – once you move down toward the middle – she will warn you with a quick random smack – to back off. Unfortunately this was something that was not addressed with positive reinforcement and now she has come to a boiling point. This will take some extra special patience and behaviour modification to change her view. Understanding her anxiety over grooming will be a challenge but steps will be given to help facilitate a happy experience.
