Tallulah – American Foxhound – 3yrs – female (47lbs) Introducing our beautiful girl, Tallulah! Tallulah was used as a breeder and kept on a tie-out in a back yard having litter after litter.
To make it worse, her owner didn’t feed her enough and neighbors were forced to help care for her and her puppies.
Animal control was called, but our laws are so weak that they were never able to do anything about it – until the last time when there were actually several dead puppies in the yard with her.
Finally, that man was forced to surrender Tallulah and her two surviving pups to the animal control officer.
When we were called, we were happy to be able to help and brought the whole family into our rescue.
??
Miss Tallulah has been staying at our shelter and we’re learning so much about her.
She’s silly, sweet, and not afraid to let us know what she thinks – in a typical hound voice.
?
She’s definitely all hound and wants us to know! Tallulah loves people and enjoys being close.
She seems to willingly coexist with other dogs, but hasn’t been very playful yet.
She loves to go for walks, but allows her hound nose to lead the way and will pull in whatever direction the “good-smells” lead her.
She’s stubborn like most hounds, but is a very polite and kind soul.
She’ll make a wonderful family dog and loves people of ages (kids too!).
We know she spent her life outside so we don’t believe that she’s housebroken yet, but she does well in a crate and should be able to be trained pretty easily.
Our happy-go-lucky girl will make a great hiking and camping buddy.
She loves the outdoors, but remember, this is not a dog that can be off leash or one good smell and she’s off to the races! Tallulah is looking to leave her past in the past and to finally find a person or family that will love and care for her for the rest of her life.
In return, that family will receive unconditional love and devotion like they’ve never known! Don’t wait to complete an application, our sweet hound girl is waiting.
