*****Belgian Malinois Adoption requirements***** The dog you have selected is a Belgian Malinois.
This is a breed that has very specific needs for an adoptive home.
Because of their need for a high level of exercise, both mentally and physically and their need for ongoing training, only applicants with demonstrated owner/handler experience with this breed will be considered.
The vast majority of them are not best suited as family pets, but in homes with experienced handlers knowledgeable of their needs and breed characteristics.
We will not place in homes with small children or small dogs/cats.
Tanner
Meet Tanner, a sweet-tempered, low-key Belgian Malinois around 6-8 years old looking for a forever home with someone who will give him the love and care he deserves.
Tanner fell victim to the epidemic of dogs abandoned to the streets in the Phoenix area, and left heartbroken and scared at county animal control, was hours away from euthanasia when Saving Paws stepped in to give him a second chance at life.
Tanner has been in foster care for several months to give us a chance to fully evaluate his personality.
This dog is a true sweetheart: he loves people, playing with toys, and has shown no evidence of destructive tendencies.
He is potty trained, does not jump on furniture, and, unlike most Malinois, does not require intense amounts of exercise.
Tanner is shy of other dogs and would do well in an only-dog home or with a submissive female dog and a long introduction period; he is not compatible with cats.
If you can give Tanner an indoor forever home, please fill out our online application on our website at / We will only schedule meet and greets with an approved application.
We are an all-volunteer organization.
It may take a couple of days to process an application and complete reference checks.
Thank you for your interest in saving the life of a dog.
