Meet Tessy
ABOUT TESSY
Meet the terrific Tessy! She is a 4 year old Black Lab mix, weighing just over 70 lbs. Tessy arrived to us from a high-intake shelter partner in Texas when they had no space for her. She has proven to be a loyal and loving girl, that is eager to please. She loves greeting our staff with a wiggle and smile every morning and is always excited to go for walks. She can often be found exploring our community beaches and trails. She enjoys going for shorter walks with her favorite staff and volunteers around the neighborhood. When she's not on an adventure, she is likely curled up on her bed enjoying an afternoon snooze.
In addition to enjoying time with her favorite people, she is also super smart. Tessy knows close to a dozen commands, including 'sit', 'down', 'stay', 'drop-it', 'leave-it', 'heel', 'fetch', 'here', 'back-up', 'kennel' and 'touch'! She is very food motivated, so the possibilities are endless with this girl. We use a lot of these commands while on walks to keep her close and focused as she can become easily distracted by birds, bikers, and other dogs. With a treat and a cue, she will easily mind her own business!
**Tessy is seeking a home with adults and no other pets.
Be sure to check back for more! In the meantime, you are welcome to submit an adoption questionnaire if interested in adoption! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog, but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.
