Introducing Toaster! This smiley boy came to AFRP from Hitchcock Road Animal Services where he wasn't fairing too well in a shelter environment and was very fearful.
Now he's looking for his furever home! Toaster is a happy and playful pup who loves making friends! He can be a bit nervous at first but is quick to warm up and share all his favorite things, especially his squeaky toys! Despite his size, Toaster is an active boy and would love to find a home where he can continue his adventures - he especially enjoys going for jogs and hikes! His foster shares that he loves to lounge next to her when she's doing yoga, and while he can be active he also doesn't mind hanging out! Toaster can be timid around new people, but with patience he is quick to come out of his shell.
He can be a bit more hesitant with men, but is making progress now that he is in foster care.
His foster has been hard at work teaching him how to dog correctly, and he's eager to learn! Due to life in the shelter, he is still working on his potty training and overall manners but he does amazing on a leash! Toaster would love home with adult adopters or families with children over the age of six who are home throughout the day to provide continued socialization and training.
He has not been introduced to other dogs and cats at this time, so it is uncertain how he will do.
Any new animal in his potential home should be introduced slowly and over time.
Toaster is currently in foster care.
Meet and greets can be arranged once your online application has been approved.
