Toblerone, 4.5 years old, spayed female, Pitbull/Retriever mix, 70 lbs. She is in a foster home in HOUSTON, Texas and can transport out of State once an adopter is approved.
Toblerone was surrendered to a high kill shelter in Texas with two other dogs (male and female). They were all kenneled together when we rescued them from euthanasia.
This girl is one of the sweetest dogs you'll meet! She is very dog friendly and gets along great with any dog she has met so far. She shares a foster home with husky. She's had other dogs snap at her and she just ignores them. She has wonderful dog manners and we think would do great in a home with another dog or would be okay as the only dog.
She finds safety in her crate and tends to hang out in a couple rooms in the the house. She will poke her head to see what is going on, but keeps to herself. She is fully housebroken and rides wonderful in the car.
Toblerone also shares a home with cat and has had no reaction. She has met face to face and shared a room with the cat there. We have some videos and pictures we'd be happy to share! She also shares a home with kids. Due to her wiggly body we recommend a home with kids 10 years and older.
She has zero reactivity and just goes with the flow. She likes to run around outside, but that doesn't last very long. We would describe her as low/moderate energy. She would love to go on walks to explore but is NOT needing a highly active home. She has pretty good recall and listens really well.
We have found that initially she is a little scared of men. She hid from the two males in the home the first few days and then was won over by treats. She's not been scared since! Her foster mom describes her as "gentle giant" who takes treats so gentle even though she's a solid 70 pounds.
She does the cutest dance when she is excited. She jumps on her hind legs and hops. We also have a video we'd love to share- it really is too cute! She is very friendly and oh so loving. She will pull on leash and could use some extra support in this area.
