Anyone adopting has been previously approved and set up to meet prior to the event.
Adoption Fee: $500 Toby is a 3 year old Jack Russell Terrier mix who came to DPS after his former home was no longer able to give him the attention and love he deserved.
We accepted him with open arms and full hearts and showed this boy the best start to his second chance.
He has spent some time decompressing in his foster home and is now ready to find a forever home of his very own! Below is a note from Toby's foster.
"Toby is a textbook JRT and lovers of the breed won't get better than this boy! He takes a bit of time to settle into his environment, but once he does, he is yours forever.
Toby loves his foster mom and follows her around the house.
He loves his daily walks and looks forward to them eagerly every day.
He takes a bit longer to warm up to men in the home but a tasty treat goes a long way towards winning him over! Toby is a sweet and happy dog who also loves to romp around and play with the best of them.
Toby wakes up at 7 AM and heads out for a quick potty break.
He has breakfast and then settles in for a morning nap as we start our day.
He spends his early afternoon exploring the backyard and gets another short walk.
He has dinner at 6 PM and then gets a longer walk.
At night, he hangs out with us while we watch TV before getting ready for bed.
Toby sleeps through the night!
Toby is fully house trained.
He is fine in his crate but also happily snuggles into his dog beds placed around the house
Toby would thrive as someone's one and only dog.
He gets along with other dogs after an adjustment period, but he is very much a people dog and not so much a dog's dog.
Kids in the home who are respectful of doggies are perfect.
Toby is a loving and sweet dog who will be a great companion for whoever is lucky enough to adopt him." Toby is only an option for those who have owned a dog previously.
We will be looking for a home who is ready to handle the love of the terrier breed.
Children should be over the age of 10.
