Meet TOPAZ
Forty lbs. of unusual adorableness are packed into this two-year-old hound mixed with some sort of wire-haired terrier. Topaz looks a lot like and is most likely a Black Mouthed Cur mix from the southern U.S. Perfect in many aspects of dogginess, Topaz is smart, enthusiastic, sublimely affectionate, eager to please and loyal to the core. She will make a wonderful family companion.
Topaz is quite energetic, and needs plenty of room to run, jump, and play. She must have a large, securely fenced yard to burn off energy. Although active, she equally loves to chill and cuddle, or chomp on a frozen Kong quietly in her crate. Topaz loves a lot of interaction with her people and will thrive best in a home where somebody is home most of the day.
Topaz and her foster mom have been working diligently with a trainer, both one-on-one and in a group setting. We have seen huge improvement in leash-walking and self control. Topaz is getting better each day. Super treat-motivated, she is very responsive and catches on to commands quickly. Her new humans must want to continue the training tools which we will pass on, and provide her with all of the support and positive reinforcement required.
Topaz is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. She does love all kids but our recommendation is age 10 plus.
