Tux is a 7-month-old standard poodle who was being trained as a service dog but was removed from the program after being diagnosed with PICA.
PICA is a disorder which causes dogs to ingest non-food items like rocks, wood, plastic etc.
which can result in a blockage or other health issues.
Tux has had multiple surgeries to remove foreign objects he has ingested, which increase the chances of him getting another blockage in the future.
This means Tux should be crated whenever he is going to be left alone, as well as, supervising him or muzzling him throughout the day to make sure he does not ingest anything foreign (this is until he grows out of this behavior,).
Tux is microchipped, neutered, up to date on all necessary shots, crate-trained and is almost fully house trained! While Tux does require more care than a normal puppy, he makes up for it with his bubbly and affectionate personality! Tux loves to go on long walks, practice training, play fetch throughout the day, and cuddle up when it's time to relax, overall Tux would make the perfect addition to any family!
