* If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, for an application.
Our adoption fees vary.
Each biography will specifically list the adoption dog will be at a meet and greet event on Saturday, February 24th unless he/she is adopted prior to the event with a set up home.
The event is from 12 pm to 3 pm at Palo Alto's Pet Food Express.
Those interested in meeting the dog can come out to our meet and greet event.
We no longer do application approval onsite.
Anyone adopting has been previously approved and set up to meet prior to the event.
Adoption Fee: $500 Wally is a 2 year old Yorkie x Chihuahua mix who was surrendered to DPS after being given to a family friend of his former home.
This loving boy wasn't given what he needed to thrive previously but we made him a promise his forever home would be his dream come true.
This 14 pound boy is the perfect size to cuddle, and what could be better than that! Below is a note from Wally's foster home.
"Wally is a sweet and loving boy who blossoms as he gets to know and love you.
At first, he was very scared and nervous but as he settled in, he started showing us his cuddly and sensitive personality.
Wally has a very soft coat that makes him a joy to pet for hours at a time.
Wally has slowly shown us how patient, gentle, and intelligent he is as we have gotten to know him.
He loves a soft bed to snuggle in after coming in from a rainy day walk, which he braves in a rain jacket! Wally is starting to show interest in toys, especially as he watches our other dogs play.
Wally loves pets and will give us a nudge when he doesn't think he has gotten enough love yet.
Wally will be a wonderful addition to a home ready to give him the time and love he needs to settle in, and then he will give you a lifetime of faithful companionship.
Wally wakes up at 8 AM for his morning stretches and pets.
He gets a walk and then comes home for breakfast.
During the day, Wally hangs out and snoozes as I work from home, going out for bathroom breaks as needed.
We take another walk between 5-6 PM and he loves observing the world as it goes by.
He has dinner around 7 PM and then snuggles with us and our dogs until bedtime at 10:30 PM.
Wally gained his confidence watching our other dogs "dog" and would do very well with a canine companion in his forever home.
Wally is very observant and will be fun to train for his lucky forever home.
Wally is learning how to walk on a leash and is doing great so far! He does well when he can watch our other dogs, especially when the world is big and scary.
He responds very well to praise which is helpful as we introduce him to more experiences.
Wally has been a wonderful dog as we have gotten to see him open up to us and we know his patient forever home will be lucky to have him." Wally is only an option for homes who have owned a dog in the past 5 years, and we will prioritize homes who currently own a dog.
Kids in the home should be over the age of 12.
