WAYLON is available! Waylon is an almost 1-year-old neutered male Golden/Lab mix.

WAYLON NEEDS TO BE IN A HOME WITH OTHER CALM DOGS.

He is described as a real "love bug", playful, affectionate, and loves to snuggle.

He loves to touch his human and sleep next to them.

Waylon walks well on a martingale harness, but he needs re-enforcement on his basic training.

He has lived with other dogs, and seems to enjoy the security of having other dogs with him.

He has not been around children and does jump, so could knock over smaller children.

He is not afraid of the crate and will nap in it with the door open.

He is not destructive in the home, is smart and headstrong, is learning about the pool and how to use a doggie door.

All potential fosters and adopters must complete an application, pay the $ application fee and have a home visit before being considered for any dog.

WE DO NOT ADOPT OUTSIDE OF THE STATE OF ARIZONA.

Once we receive your application and application fee, a home visit will be scheduled.

Once your home visit is approved, you will be placed on our waiting list.

(Please be aware that your application cannot be processed until the application fee is paid.) Our sole purpose is to find the perfect home for the dog as our dogs always come first.

Because we have new rescues coming in all the time, if the Golden that is the right dog for you is not available at this time it will probably come into Rescue and you would be notified of the availability.

Waiting times vary depending upon how specific your preferences are.

The more you restrict the factors involved in choosing a dog - age, sex, coat color, etc.

- the longer the wait may be before we find the perfect dog for you.

Please note: it is the policy of AGR not to place a dog less than 3 years of age with a family that has children less than 3 years of age.

= Arizona Golden Rescue is organized as an all-volunteer, non-profit, 501 (c) (3) corporation.

We are a charitable organization whose mission is to rescue displaced Golden Retrievers and mostly Golden mixes that have been abused, abandoned, neglected or unwanted and find new, loving, permanent homes for them.

Rescued dogs are given a complete veterinary exam and their vaccines are updated; they are also micro-chipped, spayed or neutered, and tested for valley fever and heartworm.

AGR provides emotional and medical rehabilitation and will pay for medications and for necessary surgeries.

Through education at public appearances, AGR seeks to educate the public about the Golden Retriever breed and about responsible dog ownership, in order to help reduce the unwanted dog population.
