WINSTON is a 3-year-old Corgi x Border Collie blend (often referred to as a “Borgi”) that is looking for a forever family to call his own!
WINSTON is a short, compact guy that weighs 25 lbs, he is corgi-shaped with border collie markings. He is a herding dog and needs a herding-breed-savvy home that is willing to train him and help him reach his full potential. He'd make a great hiking buddy and would love to go on adventures with you this summer!
WINSTON would love to bond with someone who is willing to show him that the world is not so scary and to teach him basic commands. He is wary of strangers at first but quickly warms up.
WINSTON LOVES to play with other dogs his size and smaller and we'd love for him to go to a home with other small dogs or to a home that would frequently take him to the dog park to play with other dogs his size.
WINSTON is potty trained and is quiet in the house and yard unless someone is at the front door or he sees a stranger. He is quiet in the house and yard unless someone is at the front door or he sees a stranger. WINSTON also loves to chew on hard toys and tear up soft toys. He eats out of a puzzle bowl and does resource guard his food against other pets, so his adopters will need to continue to work with him on this.
The ideal home for WINSTON would be one with a fenced yard or acreage, a small, playful dog friend or two to help show him the ropes, and with no cats, small children, or big dogs (they make him nervous). He is not an ideal candidate for apartment living and would not be a good fit for someone who has never had a herding breed dog.
WINSTON's rehoming fee of $250 includes health vaccines, neuter surgery, rabies vaccine, and microchip. He is ready to go home with you today!
BACKGROUND: WINSTON was relinquished to a Utah shelter in early 2023, adopted in February, and then his adopter found out she was terminally sick. He was sent to Idaho to find his forever home and has been in a foster home since mid-March.
