Meet Wookie

Wookie is about 5 yrs old and 9 lbs. He is a Yorkie mix. He was in pretty bad shape when he entered the shelter and had to have all of his hair shaved off immediately for surgery. This poor lil guy had been attacked by another dog and had been shot with a pellet gun. He had emergency surgery to repair all issues and has made a full physical recovery!!! Emotionally, he is still nervous around certain dogs -- no males at all and no one larger than him. Other dogs seem to be hit and miss. He is a lovely boy with his humans. He is very affectionate, calm, quiet and loving. Wookie will need regular grooming once his hair grows back in. And, he will need an owner that respects his fear of certain dogs and protects him. UPDATE: Wookie's hair is starting to fill in nicely and it's so soft! He has put on some healthy weight, too. He is doing better with other dogs, but definitely prefers females. He is a sweetheart.
