Meet WV- Jess (MCR)
What can I say about this sweet gentleman that'll steal your heart? He is shy at first but once he warms up watch out! He loves to head butt your hands, which as we know is one of the highest forms of affection! He gets along well with most of the other cats in my foster space except for this one other big bully. It's not his fault. He did get along very well with one of the females, unfortunately! You see, we were told Jess was a female. Next thing I know he is trying to get ahold of another female! I checked and sure enough, male! Stupid me for trusting his paperwork! He told me, "Look, I'm not ready to have kittens calling me dad, and I don't want to pay any child support in the form of catnip and treats. I'm ready to change my rebel-rousing ways! Let's get to the vet and get me neutered so I can settle down now!" Hahaha, So he is a neutered male who just loves to have attention and lap cuddles. He was fearful when he came home from his neuter and I can't say I blame him. But once he knows you're a safe person who won't cut off any more of his appendages he will warm up to you. He is a quiet cat who is gentle and unassuming. Once he is in a home of his own I hope his more playful side will emerge.
His coat needs some work. His mane looks like it may have been shaved at some point, although his hair is silky so I don't think he gets mats in it. I even thought maybe a flea allergy at one point. I'm really not sure! It's hard to explain but his neck hair is a different texture and a bit thin compared to the rest of his gorgeous, silky hair. I think it will fill in nicely though. He has the type of hair that doesn't get matted so if you're not into grooming, Jess is your man! I'm sure he would like it if you did want to brush him for some connection and snuggle time.
Jess has not been dog tested, but I think an older laid-back dog would be just fine. I feel a dog that doesn't chase cats would be best. Also, a cat that doesn't bully him would be his best companion. He would do great as a single cat. I don't know his history but he needs some TLC to blossom to his full potential. He has lost a little weight after his neuter. He is healthy, just not the beefy tomcat he was. He looks small and thin in his pics. While he isn't a large cat, he is definitely bigger than he looks in his photos. His mane being gone makes him look a bit comical and quite a bit thinner. It will fill in and he will be a glorious cat to behold before you know it. I think he has some weight to gain as well.
Jess has a tipped ear, which is typically what they do to cats in feral colonies that have been fixed. It's usually an identifier that can be seen from a distance without catching the cat. However, Jess wasn't neutered when we got him so I can't explain why his ear is tipped. As I said, I don't know his history. He is still a young cat and will only grow and bloom in your care! Is Jess the handsome gentleman you need in your life?
